We are very excited to feature Tom Robinson’s sketchbooks made in response to our Above, Below theme.  Many people find themselves preferring the informal sketches and notes that artists make in preparation for ‘final’ works. In these books Tom lays bare his thinking and working process and the rich network of references he draws on. We discover artists, writers, personal experience, and observation; and Tom opens up his process – inviting postcard contributions from others. In these pages handwriting and drawing run into each other and words are washed away. Tom examines in-between places where land and water meet and coast lines erode and shift. A place for reflection and a space for exchange.
